Awareness Camp
WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY WAS ORGANIZED BY ARPANAM TRUST IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE CANSTOP

World “NO” Tobacco day was organized in Mylapore area by the ARPANAM TRUST in Association with the Can Stop organization on 30th May 2015. Through this programme the people were educated on the evils of consumption of Tobacco products.This was done through Street theater , Posters , Cultural programme and Rally.

AWARENESS TALK ON DEPRESSION MANAGEMENT

The Arpanam Trust had conducted a programme on Depression by Mr. Kurshith BegamMSW from Fathima Trust on 6.07.2015. She emphasized on the reasons for the person to undergo depression. Fifty women participated in the programme.The participants welcomed the programme and participated well by clarifying many doubts.

RALLY CONDUCTED AGAINST TASMAC SHOP

The Arpanam Trust Staff, women from the self-help groups along with the Children’s parliament conducted a rally on 10.8.2015 at 4.Pm near Rajarathinam Stadium at Egmore, to close down the TASMAC shops. The initiative and the execution of the whole programme were taken by the women SHGs and the children Parliaments. The raised their voice against this because they are the victims of such evil. Women and children go through mental problem, financial constrain, Physical and Psychological problem and hence they were ready to fight against it. The collective efforts of the affected people hope to bring positive results.

AWARNESS CAMP

1. Pulse Polio Immunization Program:
Phase I & Phase II were conducted under the aegis of WHO and Rotary International. In Chennai City Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary sponsored publicity and provided volunteers to man the immunization centers.

2. Sponsorship of Seminars:
Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary sponsored a symposium on Youth organized by Yuva Sakthi and also an Awareness Camp on Mental Retardation organized by Karunai Trust, both NGOs.

3. Polio Surgical Camp:
Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary collaborated with Mrs. Nagalakhmi ,the animator of Arpanam Trust helped the Area Health Nurse to administer the Polio drops and iron tablets for the babies and Young Adolescent girls respectively.

4. World Environment Day:
Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary observed by tree planting or campaign. Saplings were planted in the premises under "Clean & Green" project in association with Indian Medical Association, Chennai South and Lioness Club of Viswaseva.
